I recently aquired a all wood factory issue 196_ SKS, and i love it, got the conversion done, and rail system attached, just need a good sight, also have a:

AK105 hunting style conversion, all polymer with railsystem and extended mags, lovin it as well,

looking for two ACOG/ Aperature/ 4-6x zoom rifle sights, engagement distance of 50-200 yards,
ones that can be aimed through without having to close an eye and lean into the "scope" cutting off perefrial vision.

preffering not to have to use battery operated/powered sights if possible,
and in a budget, if possible,

Sgt. Slim,

Ah...you are not leaving a lot of room there.
SKS-Is the rail on the front over the gas tube? if so you will need a long eye releife. I would get a dust cover mount and move the scope back towards you.

The eyes up sight Nothing thats got more than 1 power.....with out a battery.....and cheap!..
ACOGs are 1200.00 and require you to look through them.

HUD sights are for very close work
Try a company called CDNN they will have what you seek on a budget

You could also look over various styles of scout/pistol scopes. Or you could buy a standard optic, and attach a rail to it. (they have rails on 25-45mm clamps available everywhere). Then you can have a micro red dot mounted on top of your scope. Or if you want to angle shoot, which may be unsafe on an AK or SKS, you could get a flashlight angle 20mm rail, and slap a red dot on there.

got a quik detatch rail system for the IZH-132 AK, and a 1x30 red/green dot sight for it, it has dust covers, and easy to adjust for range. looks great and isn't highprofile, 85.99 for rail system and sight,

got a rail at a gunshow that goes over back/stock of the SKS, small, light, strong, and still enables railsight usage, got a basic red dot sight, like the ones you see on a MP7 or something, but a little longer, low profile, LONG battery life, and looks bad ass. price for rail and sight, $65 ish.

thanks guys, see ya at the next op.

Post a picture in the guns and gear thread.as for angle shooting as Savage mentioned. If he is refering to The side ways Ghetto hold,Then its not a problem for the shooter.SKS are known for flipping the brass up and over your head, or sometimes even to the front. So the guy next to you may get a hot one down his shirt....and thats always fun to watch someone jump around trying to get it out
