Even having arrived in Sierra Vista only recently, I realized the airsoft community in the area could use some organization, leadership and initiative. With this in mind, I've made a MeetUp group called Sierra Vista Airsoft which can be reached here: http://www.meetup.com/Sierra-Vista-Airsoft

The goal of the group is three fold:
1. Promote legal and safe play in areas around Sierra Vista and to discourage irresponsible use of airsoft weapons in the eyes of the public.
2. Encourage a more structured military simulation game focusing on operations, planning, reconnaissance, small unit tactics and objectives. A campaign story line will give a facsimile of purpose behind the missions.
3. Organize the local players into a supportive community full of training opportunities, logistic support and good times.

If you're in the area, or want to get involved, feel free to RSVP on our next meeting which is scheduled soon.

Sweet! I think many of the surrounding communities and even local groups could benefit from some organization based on the exact principles you mention in your post. Good luck and keep us posted on events!

Our first MeetUp is scheduled for this Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Our group has 13 members so far, with many of them being active-duty military. We have at least representatives from the team Misfit 1-1 as well as the local organizers from Cochise Airsoft League and the Bisbee United Airsoft group.

I personally have already established positive rapport with the Sierra VIsta Police Dept as well as Huachuca Police Dept. With their coordination, Lotus and I were able to play a couple of games at potential sites.

We do have an offer from a private land owner to lease his land (5 acres / 30 acres) but the terms have not yet been finalized and we're waiting to see if the group would be willing to invest in the cost of a lease.

The first Op Order will be published at the end of this month to kick off a 5 month campaign. I'll need a few veteran airsofters to serve as unit commanders. Should be a fun string of events.

Things are coming together for Sierra VIsta Airsoft.
