I sorta liked how the old site let me know who was currently online so I could send taunting emails.
Right now if you have not been active for the LAST 5 minutes you don't show up as online right then.
But other wise lots more informative on how to get around the site.

I like the active in the last 5 minutes more because the information is obviously more up to date, and allows for an actually quick convo over PM's to take place rather than realizing that someone on 15 minutes ago is probably still not on a half hour later.
