Moving to Tucson soon.

Postby Shinn on Sun Sep 30, 2012 4:55 pm

Hi everybody. My name is Shinn...Currently I live in Texas...but am soon moving out to AZ to help my grandparents. I've been Airsofting in Texas for 8 years now. I just figure I should introduce myself and get to know the community. :)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

The airsoft scene here is pretty diverse. In Abilene where I am now we've had a group that ranges from 10-40 throughout the years. And here it's more CQB based than anything. I'm sad that i'm leaving these guys behind...I've known some of them my entire airsoft 'career'. My Dad also plays...And there's some reason most of the players out here fear him and his TM Thompson. ;)

I looked over the rules and they're not all that different to what I'm used to over here so I won't have much trouble adjusting on that subject. I don't fall under most of the 'cliques' airsoft seems to have...I'm nopaintsofter,Milsim, chairsofter or the like. I believe in communication and teamwork however.

Personally I'm a bit shy. I'm 24 and love to Sim Race. And if i'm not doing that I'm on Battlefield 3 or outside. Right now the plan is to be there by the end of Jan. though i'm hoping sooner. I welcome the chance to make new friends and all that jazz. ;)

TAC pick ups and team sponsored event games are mostly milsim and not played at a "pay field" Not much in the line of CQB and play in the desert wilds of AZ.

I'm glad of that..CQB tends to burn ones self out fairly fast. By 'MilSim' I assume hicap users are in the minority? (Exceptions to the replicas that dont have mids/standards)?

Yes, but pick ups are come as you are. Most events are mid cap only games with few exceptions. Naturally drum mags are almost always allowed for SAW like weapons. There are few guns that no mids are available for any way so it really doe not come up.
