Knowing that road and the rain we've been having, it will be a muddy mess. The mud at the first crossing gets so bad it's like chocolate mousse. I've seen 4 wheelers get stuck in it. Do we have an alternate if the roads bad?

I've been up to the river crossing just after a rain, and it looks like the Mississippi River. I will be going in the back way which isn't too bad for 2WD. There is only one sketchy wash crossing on SASCO road that can get pretty jacked up. I haven't gone in the back way since the monsoon hit, so I can't say how good the road conditions are. I will have come alongs & straps to help me out if needed. Reaver..you're welcome to tag along with us in the morning. Just not sure of a meeting spot. Maybe the parking lot behind the Avra Valley fire station. There is a park next to it. I still have to make a definite plan with the rest of my folks. Shot me a pm if you want and we can work out a plan.

There are 2 back ways-
1) Take Marana I-10 Exit west onto Marana road, youll pass a circle K
2) Take that all the way to Trico road, left on Trico road
3) Right on Silverbell Road
4) Take silverbell all the way down, will turn into a dirt road
5) Turn right on SASCO Rd/Red Rock Ln
6) OPsite will be on your left after a few minutes, youll see the smelter/bunker.

Another back way-
Alternate directions: Exit I10 as Avra Valley Rd.

W. Avra Valley Rd out to the Marana Airport, just past it is N. Sanders Rd on the right. Take it to W. Silverbell Rd on the left.

Take that will it meets Redrock Lane to the right......this then becomes E. Sasco Rd. which passes the AO.

Yea I'll be there unless I get a better offer.
+1 on Ulti's directions, That is the route I use and is alot easier to navigate than the directions that are posted on the sasco ao post.

RED ROCK RIVER CROSSING IS NOT PASSABLE BY ALL BUT THE VERY HIGHEST 4X4,AND /OR AIRBOATS. BACK ROUTE IS ONLY WAY IN. USE CAUTION DO NOT STOP FOR ANYONE YOU DO NOT KNOW.LET SOMEONE KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING, TIME YOU LEAVE AND THE TIME YOU EXPECT TO MAKE IT TO SASCO.

Just got back from checking the crossing out. Does not look good. A lifted 4X4 should be able to make it but I doubt anything 2WD will make it and I have doubts about stock height 4WDs. I took the Isuzu about 3/4 of the way to the river before I turned around. Close enough to see that the river is actually lower then the swamp leading up to it.

I may well just park on the red rock size and walk in or make arrangements for one of you back road guys to meet me on the clear side of the water.
