There are alot of deserts in Arizona in fact I believe that there is a really big one that covers most of Arizona.

Show low is maybe 40 miles away? I'm not sure, I don't get around much. I'll go find a map and get back to you. The maps say that the road I'd make the OP on runs from about 5 miles from my house, (15-30 miles on the main roads. It's on the other side of Pinetop) to Greer through the national forest. Also runs to Holbrooke, I think.

Who owns it? Is it busy? Is it in City limits? We need to know all this and more before we can use any land...
