Bit different for you xD
I imagine (if I go into the service) when I am a vet I'd wanna wear a helmet too. Thanks for your service by the way. That goes to any of our veterans here on TAC.

Sir, no offense meant, but you aren't "just a normal person". I'm a firm believer that soldiers are of a different breed. I'm looking into the military myself, as a Navy combat corpsman or an Army 68W Health Care Specialist. I'm one of those young men who will walk up to every single uniformed soldier I see and shake their hand and say thank you for their service. I know what war does to people's minds and their families. I've grown up around it. I understand if you are trying to be humble, but in my eyes you and every other veteran are the lifeline of this country. Without you we'd be nothing. I'm sure I will, but those can be put off until we play together! I believe I'm rolling with 52 Zulu for OP Westernfront 2.

no offense taken. nice a medic im proud of you cause youll be takeing my slot one day, yea i heard your rolling with 52zulu ill be there to work with you. yea we are a different breed but i chose to do this to save lives since my family skipped last time family honor!!!... but i thank you for your support war does suck.. im still haveing a rough time being around people. but ill help you and have you talk to Iconarms and a few other medics ive worked with. they can give you the best advice on being a medic. i only have one afghan tour i think thats it for me. being a pure commo LOS guy LOS= Line Of sight radio systems and sat systems, so im supposed to be a fobbit. but i was called on for my talent for radios and all computer things. But my friend a battle. youll get to see and learn some of the things from 52zulu and most of the Le guys we know and my exp in combat ops. when i say normal im just like you just my brain thinks gotta stay alive and how can i do this. i still joke and have fun sometimes straight faced. I can say this you spent 4 years in college and got good grades vs my 4 years of saveing your ass while i walk away with a trade skill. least i dont complain about oh this is so hard,* college student who has mom&dad pay for everything. vs people like me money is tight and we push though hardships.
normal to me is not being in combat or hearing weapons fire or IEDS/RPGS. but i cannot forget it.

life has more to it then loseing it. one day my luck will run out. bred for a reason unkwown why...

I'm going to go to college for a bacc. in nursing once I'm out. My mom's a nurse and she does incredible things.
I go to a "smart school" and everyone is going to these big name universities and when I'm asked I say "Military" and they snarl. I get angry and think "You don't have the f*cking guts to do it". I've always known I want to be in the service. I'm smart enough for college, I have the academic background, I choose not to follow the "Sheep". I can't stand people who b*tch and complain about the military. All of these "intellectuals" don't seem to comprehend what soldiers give up. They are too worried about a GPA or the six figures they'll make. I care about lives. But only those of truthful, hardworking men and women. Corporate dips can eat sand. Any man worth his salt will serve his country in any way, shape, or form for AT LEAST four years.

Lets stay on topic guys. I'm sure we can all agree we appreciate service members and what they do, but if your going to have off topic conversations you should either make a thread relating to that topic or personal message each other.

I personally prefer a bandana or nothing at all. When playing my brim on my hat would stick out around corners or above brush so I rarely wear one. Never worn a helmet. Never felt the need for one, even when I played in pendleton.

I prefer my cowboy hat, and no its not the team (I'd be disowned if I did such a thing).

my FAST bump helmet has served well. Allows for good comms (headset) as well as being light enough to no fatigue my neck during longer games. The plastic has sheilded me from several BB's. The rail attached Condor HD recorder is also made possible by the FAST helemt.

However, I really love waering boonies. I think the romanastism of Vietnam-era SF (LRRPs) units affectedc me when I was a kind (not long after the war was over).
