Upgrading my battery...

Postby Nekoclasm on Tue Nov 25, 2008 11:41 am

My MP5 currently has its old 8.4 V 1800 mAH NI-CAD, anyone know how big of a difference I would have proformance wise If I changed to a 8.4v 4200mah NiMH? Cause I don't know jack on batterys n whatnot. Except how to use them for evil.

Depends on brand and discharge rate. Some brands have a high discharge rate and you can see motor revolutions akin to a 9.6 in an 8.4v, some do not. Likewise, some craptastic 9.6v batteries with low discharge rates can perform as slowly as an 8.4v. Being NiCad or Nimh makes little difference other then charging methodologies and battery life over the long term use.
