Postby 75thRanger on Fri Jun 18, 2010 2:11 pm

So today i bought me a classic army m14 ebr match and i am running a 9.6v intellect nunchuck battery in it. I wanted to get some input on what kind of scope i should get since i am a dmr now and what upgrades would you guys go with if you had this gun. Thanks.

isay, leave the internals alone, until you have a problem. as far as optics go, Id get a 4x acog ta31 replica, or an eotech/ 3x mag combo.

Claytons recommendations are sound. Since 99% of airsoft can be done with 'tracking by fire' I'd also add to his recommendations a standard 4x or 6x power scope, either civilian or military replica. I have found that a scope is really nice for spotting figures in the distance and making an ID but not so useful in actually taking a shot. Ben could probably point you in some good directions as well since he actually makes great use of his scoped rifle.

here is what I did with my vs m14:

ca 6.04mm tbb
guarder sp120 spring
modify cylinder, cylinder head, piston, and piston head.
madbull fishbone hop up spacer with madbull clear silicon bucking.
modify ver 2 ball bearing spring guide.

this was one of the best guns I have set up and is still unmatched in performance to any other gun have had or seen.

Thanks quadro i will look into purchasing some of the upgrades you had listed. Also is it possible to take off the ebr stock and put a buffer tube with a m4 6 point stock on to the ebr like in call of duty modern warfare 2 i hate using this reference but thats all i can think of. below is the look i am trying to go withhttp://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://gdynets.webng.com/EBRs020407%2520004.jpg&imgrefurl=http://gdynets.webng.com/ebr.htm&usg=__Ygf5JbqrApi_3E4UReCVLP4U_Kg=&h=351&w=800&sz=233&hl=en&start=5&itbs=1&tbnid=sH-JiQGRWPNhlM:&tbnh=63&tbnw=143&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dm14%2Bebr%2Bm4%2Bstock%26hl%3Den%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1

There is no OEM kit for it and you cannot mod the current setup to do it without some serious metal work. The change is actually in the receiver itself. Since CA is closest to G&G in parts usability your out of luck on most of the aftermarket EBR kits as well.

That being said, I have heard of people doing some mod work on the TGS and G&P version to get G&Gs to fit. I would assume you could also get the CA to fit in one as well as long as you were smart about how to do the mod and had access to some machining tools and metal work know how.

EBR kits are really expensive so it may not be your cup of tea either...

Yeah i dont want to pay upwards of 500$ for a new body that would be painful. I will take a look at my ebr to see what i can do. Thank you Rogue Fox and Kiley.
