Army L85 upgrades to hit 400fps and be reliable???

Postby pastormark_m on Fri Nov 07, 2008 6:35 pm

Hi,

I am looking into getting an Army L85 and I saw member, "bio" said taht it takes about $100 to make it reliable. what would I need to do to make it reliable with an M120 spring?

How about an M130?

Thanks

God bless...

Whoa, be careful though. Automatics are only allowed to hit 350 fps on TAC fields. Thats with .25 grams of course though.

According to the rules it's:
2.1 All AEGs not covered further below must be at or under 376 fps with a .25g BB (420 w/ .20g).

Though it is 350 FPS for TAC sponsored CQB/CQC events with .20g BB's.
I would get clarification on that CQB one before you start limiting your gun to 350 FPS, however.

Hi,

Just curious for some thoughts. I had a JG aug that I like a lot, but half the inner barrel is plastic and I thought is would be cool to have an all metal gun to get better accuracy. Will I be likely to notice any difference in the two guns Alll things being equal? I really like having a bull pup type gun, so are there other bull pups in the ~140-170 range? (can you tell me why I should consider a gun you are suggesting)

Thanks

God bless...

As for the want of an M130 spring that WILL take you over the 376fps limit with .25g BBs.

ok so you want a bullpup, besides the jg aug in the 140 170 range? hmmmmmm i would say yes, the only one that i know of that is good is the army l85, i have heard it is a great gun and can take a beating, one guy told me his brother had it and fell down the stairs with it, and all that was broken was the sling.

The Army L85 is a good weapon when you get all the kinks worked out.The quality control is lacking with Army so the kinks very,
The G&G L85 is a well built weapon, but it does has a problem with the semi/auto selector,it likes to shoot in full on both.
With the Army its a crap shoot on if you get a good one or a lemon. If you get a good one your set.If you get a lemon, you will spend as much as or more than a G&G to make it work right.
Both L85's in good working condition, shooting at the league FPS,Will have very good ROF,distance and dependability.
They are very easy to work on,I would disassemble the blow back feature to keep your gears intact.I do not recommend using a 9.6 unless you install a standard sector gear, piston and spacer or you will break the piston.
There is no space for a 10 volt battery in the stock location,it would have to be mounted externally or a custom battery made to mount in the stock location and an external location.
