Bolt catch problem

Postby Savage on Sat Oct 24, 2009 2:19 pm

I've got a little bolt catch problem on my new toy, CA M14-match.

It happened when I was adjusting the hopup. I pulled the bolt back and locked it, And now, I cannot get the catch to release. I can get the bolt to close, but it will get stuck very hard.

When you push the catch in, you need to also move it slightly backward (or forward, I forgot :o ).
When in doubt, call it out.

The only way to get lateral movement on that was to completely remove it. You wouldn't happen to happen to have a front scope mount for it, would you?

Scratch that, it worked.
*edit* Wait, no. I got it to release the handle, but it went right back to jamming the thing up.

You have to move the catch every time.

And no suh, I don't got a scope mount.
When in doubt, call it out.

Still off, and it still jams the bolt both ways, but not always.

Has the spring popped out perhaps?
When in doubt, call it out.

No, and I tried it without the spring, too. The spring makes it function better, but not actually function.

I forgot to ask, are you just trying to flip the catch and expecting the bolt to move? Cause it won't work that way. You have to pull the bolt back even further, then release the catch, otherwise there's to much force being put on the catch for it to work properly.
When in doubt, call it out.

At first, it was me just being stupid. But, the bolt was getting completely stuck on the catch, wether open or closed. After I took it off and put it on about a dozen times, now it works 99% fine.
