I got this Classic army NI-MH SC1300mAh HP 8.4v battery, how long should I leave it on the charger for?

I am assuming you have a standard wall charger it will take you about 2.5 to 3 hours battery milliamp divided by charger output equals estimated charge time. It will be faster if you invest in a smart charger so that you won't damage your batteries by overcharging.

I second that. If you haven't done so, get a smart charger. I recently just killed a stock 8.4v battery with the wall charger it came with, so I had to order a new battery in addition to the smart charger that some buddies kept suggesting that I get.

I've been using the "charge until it's warm to the touch" charging technique since 2004 and the only time it's ever failed me was the one time I forgot to take a 8.4v stick battery off the charger.

Set an alarm and check back every 20 minutes or so after about an hour, maybe two, depending on what kind of charger you're using.
