Gearbox slide lock

Postby airbornemedic on Tue Jan 11, 2011 6:38 pm

I replaced the piston in my ARMY L85 and when i put the metal slide lock thing on it the piston gets stuck in the rear postion but when i remove the slide it fires fine.

I want to know if there is a real problem with using the gearbox without the sliding lock.

the thing that slides into place on top of the gearbox?

if your piston gets stuck when that is on... your piston's rails are too wide. sand it down a bit, put the lock back on, and you won't have to worry about whether or not the gearbox is going to fail without the support structure that was, for some reason, designed into the gearbox.

You're flexing the gearbox to cycle the gun if it only cycles without the top thing... which is bad.
