Loose ICOM PTT

Postby Crono0001 on Sun Jun 12, 2011 9:32 am

I currently own an ICOM PTT:

It has a loose wire below the PTT button, before it connects to the headset. If the wire is wiggled, sound is cut off.

Is there an easy fix?

Nah, it's loose right under the PTT, where the wire connects into it. I don't see any screws or ways to open this thing, else I'd just solder and replace the wire. Not that simple.

EDIT: So the wire has to be bent a certain way for me to receive. I can always transmit, but it needs to have tension at certain spots for me to hear anything. I've taped it together and it's a temporary hold for now.

Sigh, more money.

I can check it out tomorrow, if you want. I've taken apart an F4TR before, so an F4S shouldn't be too different.

Don't bother calling "Surrender" on me, unless you are A) Right by me or B) Shooting 450+ with .20's. I WILL shoot you if I see you, otherwise. I am stubborn, and don't like to surrender. Consider yourself warned.
