A gearbox question...

Postby Jroll on Sun Apr 19, 2009 7:00 pm

So I was thinking about taking the gearbox out of my G36C for cleaning and maintenence. No upgrade plans right now, I just wanted to see what I have and learn a little bit about my gun and how it works. Is this a good idea? Also if I do this, should I replace the bearings and re-shim or can I clean them up and re-use what is already there? Thanks guys :D

I wouldn't go and open up your gearbox without knowing where everything goes. I would regrease and reshim the gearbox as well, although Echo 1 seems to shim there guns fairly well (I am of course assuming that you have an echo 1). Also as a heads up the G36C trigger assymbly is a pain in the butt to keep in place well trying to put the Gearbox shell on.
Primary- G&G GR-16 carbine (M4A1)
Back up- Echo 1 G36C
Secondary- KWA G23F
