Red Sleigh Down 4

On Saturday December 6th 2008 players from around the state descended upon the ghost town of Sasco Arizona to participate in the 4th annual Operation Red Sleigh Down.  Red Sleigh Down is an annual event, traditionally held by Team Fatal Exception, that benefits the USMC toys for tots program.  Players are asked to bring a toy to participate in the event and all toys are donated to the program.  This was the first year the Tucson Airsoft Coalition hosted the event as an organization and did Team Fatal Exception proud with a great day of play, a huge turn out, and loads of toys and cash collected for the program.
For this year’s game, players divided into two groups to play a game of Battlefield Sasco on the eastern border of the Sasco ghost town.  5 flags were placed on the field and teams took turns beating each other into submission in a contest to control the flags for the longest time.  This was a non stop game with no breaks in the action for refit until the entire first ½ of the game was over.  Once game 1 was over players got a few minutes to rest, refit, and then swap sides and go at it again.

All in all it was a great day to play and for a great cause.

Total attendance: 50+ players
Collections: Over $540 in toys and cash collections!

All donations have been placed with Toys for Tots .  Thank you all who supported this event and we hope to see you out again next year!
